| MarketplaceCleveland Comedy Clubs Not a mistake - the dynamics, the cultural city of Cleveland, Ohio From downtown to the suburbs, Cleveland, Ohio has much to offer. The city is a vibrant mix of cultures, located on Lake Erie. Having grown up here, what are some of my favorite places to visit if you will be in town. The best time to visit if you want to avoid very cold weather is late spring or early fall. You will not be disappointed.
Public Square and Tower City
At the heart of Cleveland is a beautiful old skyscraper called the Terminal Tower. Built in the 1920s, the lowest interior was renovated in the 80s to have a large fully enclosed center called the tower of the city. It is impressive, at least, with its fountains, marble floors and elegant, multi-level structure. That's where Clevelanders meet to eat, shop and go to ball games. Located near the stadiums for baseball, basketball and football. It is a city that loves sports. In the basement of Tower City, you can take the subway, called the Rapid Transit or RTA, to the east or west. The Rapid is fast and convenient. Many business people use every day to go to work. It also runs the airport. Tower City is a center of activity for most Clevelanders.
The Apartment
If you want to go out for a good meal, the plain is a picturesque place to go. Many restaurants are on both the east and west banks of the Cuyahoga River that runs next to Terminal Tower. This river is so immense ore barges and other vessels coming and going. The waterway is heavily used in summer for business and personal use of each. On the scenic west bank is Shooters, a popular restaurant that I used to go to the water view is spectacular from there. There are concerts there during the summer by famous bands of many genres. The history of the station is close to another popular spot. It is an old building entirely renovated with electricity TGIFridays, howl at the moon saloon, club comedy improv and more. My friends and I often went there to meet after work.
Cleveland Metroparks System
Cleveland is surrounded by a ring very large number of public parks, which are well maintained and offer spectacular natural beauty. There are places for cooking, shelter and picnic tables, jogging trails, horseback riding and more. This ring stretches miles across the suburbs of Cleveland. My favorite is the subject of Grief, in the fall, when trees are changing colors. Fall is spectacular if you love nature, the vivid colors of the trees really stand out. There are events like horse shows, dog shows and others throughout the year. Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is a popular place, too, on the west side, close.
University Circle
This is an area rich in culture on the east side of Cleveland, full of students from many schools in this area, Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Art, to name a few them. The Cleveland Museum of Art is a majestic building with many varied exhibits from the combination of the front armor for Egyptian mummies and tombs. The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is one of my favorites, showing in detail the skeletons of dinosaurs, the history of the region, the beauty of nature and how the world works through exhibits, lectures and a planetarium. The Cleveland Botanical Garden is next, and a must for plant lovers, it even has a rainforest. The Crawford Auto Museum is elegant, and the site of many weddings and parties. You can see cars of all ages in perfect condition. Ideal for lovers of old cars.
Little Italy
This ethnic part of the University Circle is a wonderful place to go to the cafe, or festival. They have yearly traditional festivals like the Feast of the Assumption, where the streets are closed and the people there lik jam. Posted on March 19, 2010.
