Smallville: Chloe Sullivan does not appear in the comic Fans of Smallville have been more than excited when it was announced last month that Chloe Sullivan will be part of the Superman comic books in 674 serial number. Unfortunately, DC Comics editor Dan DiDio recently announced that the transition from television to comics is not going to happen. Apparently, fans have been misled and are now out of luck.
"Chloe is an exciting character on the television, and we had hoped to work in DC continuity it," DiDio said in a recent conversation with Newsarama.com. "Unfortunately, the stars are not aligned properly, and even if we warned, it will not appear in one issue of Superman or Action Comics.
That's all DiDio has to say about Chloe's disappearance suddenly. It was probably some sort of rights issue, or that Superman writer Kurt Busiek just not found a way to integrate the teenage character in the adult world of Clark Kent. Initially, some fans were disappointed to learn that DC Comics wanted to reuse the character because they believe that the original features of Chloe was what made her special and memorable.
BuddyTV readers also reacted intensely to that question, because they broadcast their thoughts through their comments. Gen717 said, "Whoever is the person they chose to call Chloe in the comics is not our Chloe. They are basically going to strip her of all that love her, give her a character different and call Chloe? No, I'm not buying a comic that grossly misrepresents a character I like. Sorry DC, but what do you think? "
cecil44 shared the same sentiments, saying: "I am really disappointed with the DC version of" Chloe "! They want the soundtrack that does everything from Chloe Sullivan in Smallville character so special! It is not possible I would like to buy a comic book that distorts her character like this. the whole reason that Chloe is a great and soo soo special is the fact that she is a journalist first and best friend of Clark! But as someone else said, I think we can not really know until we see how they will present it. "
Well, we will not see how Kurt Busiek and the team of DC Comics will introduce Chloe, they are already delayed adaptation. After seeing their plans, Chloe might as well stay inside our television screens.
