Back in time with Counter Clock Records As we all love the vinyl revival, there is another aspect of this phenomenon which is sometimes overlooked: the 45 cases forgotten rpm from recent years. Of course, there are traditional artists, punk and indie musicians have found a way audio to their taste, it's a wonderful way not only to give their fans what they want (music), but also create a collector's item as well.
Another way the past has undergone major changes in recent years. Remember when AM radio dominated the airwaves? And then another format in the 70s has added even more alternatives to the amateur radio music-FM. Now we have satellite radio and other media inventive, the Internet radio station.
An Internet radio station in particular has been able to combine the above documents and 45s the Internet to the cons-shaped clock radio (http://www.live365.com/stations/counter_clock?play) and Counter Clock Records (http:// stores.ebay.com / Counter-Clock-Records). The company is the result of the wife and husband team of Jane and Norm Geddis Mission Viejo, Calif., have developed a "game that we find" programming style is unique and allows their listeners an eclectic array of musical genres to listen. I had the opportunity to talk with the developers of this new concept, we'll learn about Counter Clock Records and Counter Clock Radio:
It is obvious that you have a love for vinyl-What is it about the records that make them so attractive to you?
Norm: "They are round like wheels. It is by far the best use of the first invention of man. CD's never felt quite the same. The downloads are radio and more work. I am the last decade is impressed with myself to get software to work after an evening playing with my computer. "
Jane: "I like the high-value nostalgic vinyl - whether a 1964 Top 40 one-hit wonder or a super rare Private Press Psych LP. It was like a part of me is dead and buried when CDs became the norm. With downloads, it's like the moss has grown over the tombstones.
How long have you been online / on eBay, and what are your thoughts on tariff changes and the overall operations of the giant online?
Norm: "We started Counter-Clock Records in July '07. Or rather, I started selling on eBay at this time, only 45 that I love him, and then we created both the store and stuck the other parties (blog and radio station) to it. "
"For everybody talks about these changes, I came in the midst of it, and, speaking just for me, I am part of Counter-Clock Records. EBay is just the place, the mall where our store. No matter where it was his shop, there is not a merchant on this planet or any other kind, who does not complain about the rents. This is not a complaint I will convey to my clients. "
When did you decide to go "online" with the Live365 radio station?
Norm: "The station has been operating since March of '07 was for several months before the store opens."
What kind of fan base you have, what kind of files / music do you play?
Jane: "Our base is our customers who have found our station. The station is very close to exactly what we want it to be, short of news to music and info, and now we have something unique and something we are proud. It is time to let everyone know. We play what we find. I call accidental programming style nostalgia.
My readers love the "Top 5 Sales of vinyl records" for each week. How long did you done this? Have you noticed any specific models, which sells best (and whom) and what is the most expensive record you've ever documented on the list?
Norm: "I started the blog about the same time I started the radio art
