Movie Monster Legends: Ten of the greatest screen Ever Beasts Some monsters never die. Some of them continue to burrow deeper into the collective unconscious until they are rooted there for all time. Here, we take a look at ten of the most memorable creatures of the film industry. There is no real order of this list because they are all excellent examples of celluloid terror (and opinion, after all, is subjective. Nowhere more than fans of the movie), but large names speak for themselves. We will also take a look at some of the licensed merchandise that these creatures inspired, which has captivated fans for decades.
Chucky:
The doll has one on the screens in the 1988 horror classic "Child's Play". Following this entry four suites, each with its appeal was diminished as each film has become more and more a parody of what has preceded. Chucky is also to get the remake treatment, but in the new version, it is always played by veteran movie villain Brad Dourif.
Pinhead:
Famously portrayed by Doug Bradley in eight feature films, Pinhead is one of the most striking images are from the movies. With its ugly head and held fetish mutilated, he leads his Cenobite minions across realities to trap people who have twisted thirst for the next big fix. The character is coming to the big screen again with the upcoming remake of the first Hellraiser.
Jason Voorhees
The Hick mutated Crystal Lake has terrorized audiences for decades, and to date have been published in eleven feature films including the 9 Friday the 13th Jason X and Freddy Vs Jason. A remake of Friday the 13th will soon be released and the start of the series all over again. With its distinctive hockey mask and bloodied machete, Jason is an unforgettable movie monster.
Predator:
First shredding flesh in the 1987 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Predator has quickly become a monster emblematic film despite only starring in two films until the AVP franchise has come. With its features and capabilities, the Predator grabbed the fans more and more because it is an implacable opponent of the heroes of films. The Predator is going to become one of the most sought-after collectors' items in history.
Ghostface
Surprisingly, the masked killers from the SCREAM trilogy always rank very highly with horro movie buffs. Although not strictly monsters, image masks, of murderers is a dress that has prevailed throughout the industry for a horror lkate time in the 90s, creating a generation of imitators who wanted lower lay hands on the teen slasher reinvention movement.
Freddy Krueger:
The legendary dream demon, Freddy Krueger, a terror to our screens in seven movies of his, as well as a short-lived television series, countless books and comics, and Freddy Vs Jason poor feature . Played by Robert Englund in all of the foregoing, Freddy was (and remains) an intense and memorable character. It works best in the first and third films of his own franchise, when it was at its darkest. The first of his films, A Nightmare on Elm Street is being remade, with Krueger now played by Billy Bob Thornton.
Alien:
Originally designed by legendary artist HR Giger, the eponymous creature in the movie Alien (and AVP and AVP: Requiem) is a monster movie instantly recognizable. Its very form chills and terror in equal measure, proven by its longevity as a driving force in the film industry. To date, the first two Alien movies stand as masterpieces of the genre and cinema as a whole, and while the latest films and the Alien Vs Predator spinoffs may have been lesser products, they n have done nothing to diminish the power of the presence of the animal when he saw on the screen.
