Make A Comic StripThe evolution of the Garfield Comic Strip

June 19, 1978 saw the birth of one of the most beloved and best-known comics of all time, Garfield, a tale of an unpleasant but adorable orange tabby cat, his owner Jonathan Q. Arbuckle, better known simply as Jon, and the long-eared but equally adorable Odie the dog. Garfield was the brain child of cartoonist Jim Davis and over the last three decades, has evolved into an empire billion and holds the record of being the comic's most widely distributed worldwide, appearing in a little over 2,500 different publications.

Over the years, Garfield has developed a distinct personality, instead centers around his laziness, his sarcasm and selfishness, his incredible love of napping and eating lasagna, and his deep hatred for dieting. The first characters to appear in the band, in addition to Jon and Garfield, Odie were yellow Beagle, who made his debut in August of that year, followed by Pooky few months later, which is the best friend Garfield and teddy bears with whom he communicates regularly with just as if he too was "alive" animals.

In addition to the regular band, the comic also includes a host of other major and minor characters like Nermal, the little gray striped kitten who always irritates with its cute eternal Garfield and Arlene, cat fur pink which has an ongoing relationship of love-hate relationship with the big orange tabby cat. And finally, Garfield Veterinary love Jon and interests, Dr Wilson, who first appeared in Liz June 1979. As Jon and Liz approached in recent years, Garfield has become jealous, but soon learns to make friends with his former veterinarian and their relationship continues to flourish today.

A few years later, Jon's family, the characters are loosely based on own Davis family, including his mom, dad, grandmother, and brother Doc Boy, have appeared in the band and the clan is Arbuckle meet regularly on the family farm. Other characters who make occasional visits to comics including Irma the waitress, Herman factor, Binky the Clown, and a few neighbors like the invisible Mrs. Feeny who is regularly tormented by Garfield and malicious acts.

After the astonishing popularity of the comic strip, Garfield soon became a television series called "Garfield and Friends" which lasted from 1988 to 1994 and featured the usual faces and Mr Burnside, near the Arbuckle, Penelope Pussycat and Cactus Jack, who is a friend of Jon. Another cartoon has also created by Jim Davis, United States acres, which was renamed the farm Orson, has also been incorporated into the show.

Garfield also eventually went to the big screen and the comic has produced three films, beginning with the 2004 "Garfield: The Movie" and its sequel "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties," which was published in June 2006, Fully computer-generated and Garfield Gets Real "in 2007 which was written by Davis, which lasted two full years to complete the script.

Garfield continues to be perhaps the most loved cat in the world that people around the world enjoyed his many antics amusing.
