Sydney Comedy Festival

Sydney Comedy FestivalSydney Gay And Lesbian Mardi Gras

Homosexuality, today, has been accepted by the company by the world as a normal form of sexuality. Homosexuality is not a bad word more, nor do we need to speak in whispers of our days. We know it is quite normal to be funny! However, no city in the world has agreed to his heart strangely different (if not a more apt word) forms of sexuality as a City of Sydney in Australia!

In Sydney, lesbians, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex sections of the community have been accepted without reservation within her by society in general. Although these sections of the community stood in their remote areas up to twenty years ago, now they are an integral part of mainstream society because of their presence known in all areas of life.

The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is an annual festival two weeks long held in February celebrating the identity, rights, freedom and the normality of the individuals who belong to this part of the community. Mardi Gras Parade is the culmination of the spectacular celebration!

Hundreds of members of the LGBT community to join in the parade wore exotic, bright, colorful, striking, strong suits. They carry the intoxicating music, and developing these floats with themes relevant. There are also presentations that have wit and humor and satirical themes. The Parade is now attracting so much attention that there are local and interstate and international visitors arriving in Sydney for the Mardi Gras Parade.

With the social acceptance of increasing worldwide for the community, there are representatives from all walks of life, including government and police forces, participating in the parade. It is ironic come to think that the first Mardi Gras parade was held to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York to protest against the discrimination shown by the police, government and society in general against the gay community!

Mardi Gras Festival in 2010 will be celebrated during a period of two weeks from February 19 to March 6, with numerous cultural, social, sporting and other entertainment events. This year, the festival expects to attract over the community of the world and causing an overall risk of their culture and identity.

The festival is set to speed with a picnic on the grounds of Victoria Park. Thousands are expected to descend on the site of the picnic to enjoy food, fun and games!

Other than the parade of Mardi Gras, Mardi Gras Festival is famous for its dances which concludes Mardi Gras Party is the most spectacular and most popular, not to mention the Pool Party and the Party After Party!

The Festival will be a combination of art, dance, music and theater, all in generous measures, presented in various beautiful places in Sydney. Wearing '10 is a dance event that will be erected near Lady Macquarie Point on the Sydney Harbour with the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge in the background!

In summary, the Mardi Gras Festival brings together all sections of society and culture through a potpourri of dance, music, art, culture, drama, humor, and tourism that is filled with fun and fascinating colors absolute - of course in the world one and only event of its kind and the biggest attraction at this!
