Transmetropolitan Comic

Transmetropolitan ComicMy favorite comics

1. Spider Jerusalem "The Transmetropolitan - This character seems to be a tribute to Hunter S. Thompson, and this character keeps pushing me wonder more and more to get a tattoo of a spider on my head. He did not need super powers to save the situation, he uses the truth. It is undoubtedly my favorite character, he can kick ass when needed, he grades the most incredible I've ever seen, he devoted himself to denounce injustice, and he has my greatest respect, and above all he is into drugs and alcohol, like Hunter S. Thompson. Not only is he my favorite characters, but cyber-punk is my favorite genre and I recommend to anyone with views on Transmetropolitan left. I would even compare it to great works like Brave New World and 1984. It may be based in a dream world of the future, but most of the issues addressed in this are great problems in today's society as well.

2. Sandman - The graphic novel was one of five comics to Entertainment Weekly's "100 best reads from 1983 to 2008, ranking at 46. It is regarded as "a comic book for intellectuals. It goes deep into the philosophy, thought experiments are used very frequently and one of my favorite quotations is from The Sandman -" His madness keeps him sane. "Morpheus (The Dream of the King) gave a depressed man who was about to kill himself a dream that he is the emperor of the world. The man truly believed he was the emperor of the world and lived happily, it deals with many other things related to the philosophy and spirit. Gaimann Neil did a fantastic job personifying ideas and emotions.

3. Y: The Last Man - This series has been phenomenal, there is no other way to describe it. The twists in the plot have been numerous, but each was just as shocking as the last, it's a fantastic plot and the relationship between Yorrick Ampersand and is most entertaining. He plunges steeply to science and give us a notice that the world be like without men. In conclusion, it's just a fantastic read that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. Lots of small jokes sent to political parties.
Yorrick: "Who are they? Terrorists? "
Madam President (his mother): "No, worse, much worse. Republicans."

4. The Preacher - A fantastic and funny story of the life of a preacher. It covers many things such as religion or philosophy, as Mr. Starr, one of the characters is an existentialist. It also discusses the New World Order conspiracy, as the Grail attempts to take over the world through the creation of an Apocalypse. Another fantastic read.
