Used Comic Books

I have to give an informative speech and my topic is how the comics portray cultural, social and political issues faced by a nation.In my research I came across some articles where sociologists vied for the use of the band drawn in sociology classes, but I want specific examples. Like what school / university that employs them. Any suggestions would be great.

Spiegleman of Art "Maus" has been used in some university courses. The book is autobiographical comic about himself, his faher and their relationship as well as detailing the time of his father as a prisoner of the concentration camp World War II.

You should see the independent comics, they usually like the action hero and bypass many of them are often more realistic, down to earth, refer yourself topics and themes related to culture.

I was a sociologist (intro) Professor that used Doonesbury and Boondocks in its class. Not a comic that I know, but he used the cartoons to discuss the political and social theory. My school Western Maryland College and was renamed McDaniel. If you look at some of our old brochures, I'm sure you will find something.
